Things to Know #

SketchUp is used primarily to create sketches, most commonly of buildings, tools, designs, etc. with a variety of materials and textures. Its interface allows a user to quickly and precisely draw or edit both 2D and 3D shapes, as well as import images or other SketchUp files.

Import formats: SKP, JPG, PNG. Export formats: SKP, PNG, STL.

SketchUp is free to use for personal projects, though not all features are enabled in the free version, and there is no free offline version.

Your free account comes with 10 GB of Trimble Connect cloud storage. You are also able to share your projects and collaborate with your team. The free version also allows you access to the 3D Warehouse, a collection of user-generated and manufacturer-produced models.

Additionally, you can use the SketchUp Viewer app to review your models on your mobile device.
