GIMP lets you perform high-quality image manipulation which includes retouching, restoring, and creative composites. This program is great for artists as well as graphic designers who want to create art for user interface components and mockups. However, with all of the tools and customizations users can do, GIMP is advanced, and takes a bit of practice to understand how to work.
