Tool Summary #

Flourish is a browser-based data visualization platform with a focus on interactive storytelling to make the sharing of data a unique and immersive experience. The program has a wide range of templates for data visualization options such as maps, charts, tables, and much more. Because they are a partner of Canva, all Flourish projects are Canva friendly and can be incorporated into Canva designs. With unlimited projects and interactive designs, Flourish is a great option when thinking about including visual data in your project.

Things to Know #

In Flourish, you can either create a Visualization, which is simply a chart, or a Story, which is a presentation of multiple visualizations.

There are a variety of ways to enter data into Flourish. You can paste data into the sheet, or upload a CSV/Excel file to the project.

Because Flourish and Canva are part of the same company, Flourish designs can be easily imported into Canva projects. There are also many Flourish charts that can be used directly in Canva.

You can make searching for templates easier by using Flourish’s helpful filter tools and search engine to find exactly what you need for your project. If you’re not quite sure what kind of chart you need yet, you can click on the different options and they will give you a rundown on what each one is used for and what data it needs.
