Canvas is a learning management platform developed by the company Instructure. It provides a digital work area for course instructors and for students. It offers many features which aid in course building and participating in a class, with file hosting, discussion boards, and automated grading being a few examples.

Things to Know #

Canvas is a tool for both professors and students. Professors can upload files, create and grade assignments, make course announcements, and more. Canvas can also be used to integrate other digital software (such as Zoom or Google drive) into a course. For students, it provides an interface to digitally view course material, take quizzes, look at grades, and receive guidelines from instructors. Students can also personalize how courses appear on Canvas, as well as view past courses they’ve taken.
