Accessing Adobe Premiere #

  1. Create a free Adobe account at adobe.com
  2. Open Adobe Premiere on any computer in the HCC
  3. Log in with your free Adobe account credentials

Creating a Project #

  1. Open Adobe Premiere
  2. Click “New Project”
  3. Name the project
  4. Select media if you have it ready
  5. Click “Create”

The Video Editing Workspace #

  1. Source
    • For playing back individual clips – you can close it
  2. Program
    • For playing back your entire project
    • Add “Toggle VR Video Display” button
  3. Project
    • Media files you can drop into your project
    • Download the sample file and add it to your project
  4. Timeline
    • The place to rearrange media, trim clips, add audio, etc.
    • Add the sample clip to your timeline twice and practice trimming and rearranging
    • Use the text tool to add text to your video

Exporting Your Video #

  1. Click File > Export > Media
  2. Name your file
  3. Preset – Match Source is fine, but you can specify 1080p or 720p if you prefer
  4. Click Export

Sharing Your Video on YouTube #

  1. If you don’t have a an account, you can follow these step-by-step instructions to set up a YouTube account
  2. To upload, click your profile icon and “YouTube Studio,” then the “Upload Videos” button
  3. Select your video and start the upload
  4. Set the visibility
    • Do not select “Private.” This means it is only viewable by you when logged into your YouTube account.
    • Select “Unlisted” if you want your video to be available to people with whom you share the link, but not to appear in Google searches
    • Select “Public” if you want the video to appear in Google searches
  5. YouTube should automatically recognize your video as 360 degree footage and treat it accordingly

Making Your Video Accessible #

  1. If anyone speaks in your video, it should be captioned. YouTube auto-captions are a great start, but they always need a little clean-up
  2. In YouTube Studio, select “Subtitles” and click your video
  3. Find the English (automatic captions) subtitles and click “Duplicate and Edit”
  4. Review and edit the automatic captions as needed. Click “Publish” when you are done.
