The Digital Creator Series is a student-led workshop series sponsored by the Digital Knowledge Center. Workshops can focus on just about anything within the realm of digital creation! We’ve hosted workshops on:
- Portrait photography
- Touching up photos with Adobe Lightroom
- Creating animations with Adobe After Effects
- DJing on Twitch
- Using a sewing machine
- Building your own computer
- Designing and 3D printing D&D dice boxes
- Making custom stickers with the Cricut
- Creating surreal art in Photoshop
- Many more topics too numerous to name!

Proposal Guidelines
Any UMW student can propose a workshop!
DKC staff will work with you to design the workshop, market the event, and provide the necessary materials for students to participate in the workshop. We’ll keep the event listed on our website so you can use it as a resume item, and we’ll pay you a small honorarium for leading the workshop!
We take all proposals, but the ideal workshop should:
- Focus on a digital skill (though we take a wide view of what this means)
- Fit within a 60-90 minute time frame
- Give hands-on experience for the participants (not just a PowerPoint slideshow)
- Allow participants to create something during the workshop
