To explain the difference between DOO and sites@umw, sites@umw is like a beginner tutorial for DOO. It is more simple than DOO like for example DOO has more customizable themes, plugins, and widgets than sites@umw. The biggest difference I would emphasize is the fact that you can take DOO with you after you leave UMW.
( I also played around with admin settings and learned how to change my admin color scheme! )
This week, I was able to create another website at sites@UMW. If you would like to check it out you can find the link here.
Now, upon spending some time on sites@UMW I’ve been able to form my own opinion about it but I don’t think I will share it here. There are some stark differences between the two. Appearance, for example, on sites@UMW is severely limited. A user will only have a sample of a few themes to choose from for their site, compared to the hundreds available on Domain of One’s Own. I think this serves as a good example for the overall differences between the two websites. Domain of One’s Own will give the user more control and options when it comes to the site and what’s on it (like themes for the appearance and specific tools for posts and pages), sites@UMW doesn’t have as many options to use or even specific plugins to add. They are, however, similar in the ways that the user can customize their site.
This is me playing around with UMW sites! It is interesting how the control bars look different on sites.
Other than that WordPress is pretty much the same and even though there is a difference in appearance the functions of the bars are the same. I have used sites before for my digital studies class but I haven’t explored past the instructions given in class so these new observations are very cool to discover.

Tell me about a cat and a dog walking into a bar.
It was a typical night at the local watering hole, when all of a sudden, the door swung open and in walked a cat and a dog. The patrons of the bar were surprised to see such an unlikely duo, but the cat and dog seemed to be the best of friends. They strolled up to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks, with the cat sipping on a saucer of milk and the dog quenching his thirst with a bowl of water. The other patrons couldn't help but stare in amazement as the cat and dog chatted and laughed like old friends. They even joined in on a game of darts, with the dog fetching the darts and the cat aiming and throwing them. It was a sight to see, and one that none of the patrons would soon forget. The cat and dog finished their drinks and said their goodbyes, leaving the bar with everyone in awe of the unlikely friendship they had just witnessed.
This response is originally what inspired me to make this post. This response floored me. The fact that the A.I. could create such a fleshed out and “human” feeling paragraph. Really impressive.

Additionally, life is full of opportunities and experiences, and by persevering, you can discover new things about yourself and the world around you. Furthermore, even in the darkest times, things will get better, and by continuing to strive forward, you will be able to overcome the challenges and difficulties that you face.
A bit of a dark question, but I was curious how the A.I. would respond to such an abstract and difficult question. I’m mostly curious about that because of the potential of A.I. Therapists. Wouldn’t that be a time to be alive.

The plugin I chose to customize my site was the Font Plugin, I changed the text font on my site to Century Gothic. I chose this plugin just because I did not like the basic font that much, this plugin gives me the option to change the font with many different choices.
The appointment I am most excited about is Presentation/Recording tools since I enjoy playing around with PowerPoint and I am excited to learn more about the other presentation application.
For customization, I decided to use the Twenty Twenty-One editor theme. I also decided to use a custom hex brown color for my site to match my computer. While navigating through wordpress, I discovered that there are many different themes you can choose from, but from what I played with this theme was the easiest.
I chose this video since I have been binge watching Hell’s Kitchen recently, it is very funny seeing him in anger over raw chicken. Sometimes I wonder how he still looks young while being in anger 90% of the time, the wrinkles might grow on his forehead.
