For this post, I troubleshooted how to fix my broken website! First, to break my site I changed my URL by adding 333 to the end, it looked like this.

    After My Site Broke

I went back to domain of ones own and clicked on my wp admin URL. I then scrolled down to settings, hit general, and changed my url back to the original

What my page looked like before fixing site

I didn’t google anything, I first tried and see if I could fix it through domain of ones own back page but it didn’t work. Then I tried to go back to my original settings, Haley found it as well and gave me a hint to just scroll down, so from there I fixed it.

    Accessibility Training

Today I completed the accessibility training to make my site more accessible. One thing that surprised me was the importance of heading structure. I got a warning for my heading structure through the new plugin I added, and once I read more into it I realized how important it was. They stated that incorrect heading order can make it difficult for visually impaired users to follow the topics of my site using a screen reader.

One thing I still have questions about is how to create the best alt text without being too wordy. When I try to describe my image in the alt text the plugin says the alt text is too long. Also, why does the underlined text warning show up when I do not have any underlined text?

    sites@umw

To explain the difference between DOO and sites@umw, sites@umw is like a beginner tutorial for DOO. It is more simple than DOO like for example DOO has more customizable themes, plugins, and widgets than sites@umw. The biggest difference I would emphasize is the fact that you can take DOO with you after you leave UMW.

( I also played around with admin settings and learned how to change my admin color scheme! )
