Quick Facts

  • Price: You can create a free account. Free users can create up to 5 visuals.
  • Platforms: This is an online tool, so it can be used on any computer, tablet, or phone that has internet access. It is easiest to use on a computer.
  • Recommended For: Beginners – Piktochart is user-friendly, and there is not an overwhelming amount of options for editing.

Things to Know

Piktochart allows you to create timelines as well as charts and maps where you can add or import data. The charts and maps can display information or move when you drag your mouse across them. Additionally, you can access the Unsplash Image Library directly in Piktochart, or you can upload images to use in your visuals. Like other infographic tools, you can duplicate the page you’re working on, lock images or text so that you don’t accidentally move them, and add images to fill different shapes (for example, a circle or a heart). One unique thing about Piktochart is that it provides color schemes for you to use and allows you to create your own. Also, you can open a preview of your visual in your browser to see what it would look like if you clicked a link to it. The downsides to Piktochart are that it only allows you to create 5 projects with a free account, and it does not have as many animated or moving elements as Canva, another design tool.
